Surrounding area
Sudbrook is an historic hamlet dating back to the 17th century, which borders the River Severn and is surrounded by open countryside. Sudbrook has its own unique history as the majority of its expansion has been due to the adaptation of needs for the area. With the first houses being built in the 17th century for railway workers, before the site was expanded in 1958 for the workers of the Pump House and Paper Mill. The neighbouring village of Portskewett is situated less than a mile away, there you can find a primary school, village shop, church and Doctors surgery to nearby Caldicot. The Wales Coast Path is within walking distance. This is a designated long-distance trail which follows, or runs close to, the coastline of Wales. Launched in 2012, the footpath is 870 miles long and was named as the first dedicated coast path in the world to cover the entire length of a country’s coastline.
